Breakout singer-songwriter @lifeofcruelti champions a new wave of music with his Afro-fusion style. A blending of genres with heavy Afrobeats influence, the 24-year-old Baltimore resident writes from experiences that stay true to his roots, while venturing outside the scene.
Oluwatosin “CRUELTí” Ishola born in Ketu, Lagos, Nigeria began his journey with music in the church choir. Growing up on artists such as Dare Art Alade, Burna Boy, 9ice, M.I, Wande Coal, Mali Music, Lil Wayne, & T-Pain, CRUELTí fuses the sounds of gospel, RnB, hip-hop, and Afrobeats into something undefined by any one genre. Afro-fusion connects people through engaging lyrics and indelible beats.
The influence of old and new artists guides CRUELTí into making music that not only sounds pleasing to the ears but is with messaging audiences can relate to. His songs only come from his experiences, whether that be joy, love, hurt, competition, or struggle. The most important thing is that the message is conveyed and relatable.
